Unix/linux Administrator job from Halian International in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Our Client

Our client, a well-known industry leader based in Luxembourg, is looking for a Linux administrator and DevOps to join the IT infrastructure team.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure and maintain the Unix & Linux systems, virtualization and storage/backup infrastructure
• Ensure the availability, integrity, security and good performance of the IT systems and applications
• Perform incidents resolution and follow-up, problems identification and analysis
• Perform day-to-day infrastructure operations
• Participate in continuous improvement of the overall production environment and write appropriate guidelines where required
• Keep a high level of technical awareness within the assigned area of responsibility
• Participate to IT S&S related projects
• Occasionally provide an administrative support in the scope of the activity

Your Qualifications

• Demonstrate knowledge in current Unix & Linux systems
• RHEL operating systems
• Docker infrastructure, experience with Kubernetes would be an advantage
• Oracle Solaris operating system and Cluster software
• Proven experience with automation and scripting
• Have good knowledge of system virtualization and containerization
• Show good communication skills in English as well as skills in French or German (spoken and written)

• Additional skills/Technologies to learn during the mission :
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of cluster environments.
• Have a proven experience in managing a Storage Area Network (SAN)
• Provide knowledge in Backup and Recovery
• Demonstrate skills in Business Continuity Planning
• Accept to be part of the IT S&S On-Duty Team
• Be familiar with standard office applications
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills
• RHEL operating systems, including Docker infrastructure
• Oracle Solaris operating system and Cluster software
• Automation & CI/CD software
• NAS / SAN storage infrastructure
• EMC Networker backup software
• Show skills in installations and maintenance of DMZ environments
• Demonstrate skills with WEB middleware
• Have a proven experience with LDAP
• Be able to work team-oriented and independently
• Show a strong ability to communicate at all levels, both inside and outside the company
• Show user skills in the tools used in the department
• Maintain the strict confidentiality of the data
