General Motors is a reputed company based in Michigan. We are looking for talented professional from the field of IT-Hardware / Networking to join our team as Transmission Senior Calibration Engineer.

Job Description
e are looking for upbeat and positive individuals to play a key role on our transmission calibration team! As a Transmission Clutch Control Calibration Senior Engineer you will execute transmission calibrations within a team of calibrators, algorithm specialists, global tech specialists, feature owners, engine calibrators, and platform engineers.

  • Develop and release transmission calibrations according to project timing
  • Calibrate automatic transmission clutch control interactions within Vehicle, Transmission and Engine Controls
  • Comply to transmission hardware, engine calibration, and platform calibration requirements
  • Adhere to standard work methods and tools. Suggest and create improvements as applicable
  • Find opportunities for design improvements in complex systems
  • Support clutch control calibrator and lead calibrator colleagues
  • Solve unanticipated problems due to hardware or integration
  • Participate on tasks aiming at virtualization of physical tests.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or a related engineering degree)
  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, preferably on calibration
  • Fluent on English as a second language
  • Knowledge of computer software as it pertains to calibration work
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems, focus on propulsion ones
  • Strong analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work across technical teams
  • Possess a valid driver's license and ability to operate test vehicles
  • Familiarity with computational tools and programming languages
  • Ability and willing to travel. Typically, it ranges 2 to 4 weeks per year.
  • Availability to work in Indaiatuba plant

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with tools commonly used in calibration: INCA, Vehicle Spy, CRETA, MDA, and/or MATLAB/Simulink
  • Powertrain calibration experience
  • Hands on vehicle integration or powertrain problem solving experience
  • Knowledge of vehicle CAN bus data recording systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of complex powertrain control systems
  • Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms.
