BHE Canada is a reputed company based in Calgary, AB. We are looking for talented professional from the field of Supply Chain / Logistics / Procurement to join our team as Sr Procurement Lead.


BHE Canada is a Canadian subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy and is focused on identifying and investing in business opportunities within all aspects of the non-regulated energy infrastructure market across Canada. BHE Canada is currently developing a 130 MW windfarm; owns and operates a 20 MW gas-fired peaking plant; and owns a transmission line that extends from Alberta to Montana. BHE Canada is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta.

Reporting to the Manager, Accounting, this is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a growing team and take a lead role in the development and execution of best practice sourcing, contracting and procurement processes. The successful applicant will be responsible for the competitive bid process, including RFP development, supplier evaluation and selection, contract negotiation and award. They will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to support the achievement of business goals and objectives while promoting and ensuring the utilization of sound procurement practices.

Key Responsibilities:

· Leadership – work collaboratively with all business units to provide leadership and support in supplier qualification, sourcing, contracting and procurement. Provide day to day guidance and coaching to the Procurement Project Assistant;

· Sourcing -- Develop sourcing strategies to align with BHEC’s strategic goals and objectives and conduct competitive bid processes, supplier evaluations and contract negotiations;

· Contracts -- Create, manage and maintain contracts for materials and services. Understand all aspects of commercial terms and conditions (such as finance, legal and insurance) and provide advice to the business; and

· Process / Governance – Participate in the ongoing design, development and implementation of best practice sourcing, contracting and procurement processes and work with all stakeholders to ensure compliance with policies, processes and procedures.


· University degree or College diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or other related disciplines or a combination of equivalent education and experience;

· Master’s degree is considered an asset;

· Professional certification such as Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) preferred;

· Minimum of 10 years related experience;

· Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities demonstrating competency and increasing levels of responsibility;

· Experience with cross functional teams and ability to influence decision making;

· Superior communication and presentation skills;

· Effective interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes;

· Results oriented with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks;

· Ability to create an inclusive environment;

· Demonstrated skills in negotiation, conflict management and the ability to earn credibility with all levels of employees in BHE Canada and companies that you will be working with; and

· Proven track record of good performance and attendance.

Salary: $108,000.00-$128,000.00 per year
