Position summary:

The Rainforest Alliance is seeking a creative and highly organized Senior Officer, Certification Body (CB) Training. With experience in developing training programs and project management, the Senior Officer defines the vision for the CB training program and ensures its alignment and integration in the Rainforest Alliance Certification Program. They are responsible for developing, overseeing and continuous improvement of the CB training strategy, ensuring its feasibility and impact, and timely delivery of products.


Responsibilities:

  • The Rainforest Alliance’s Core Values are Impact, Change, Collaboration, Openness and Trust and as such they form the basis of the behaviours we demonstrate;
  • Develop and improve the CB training strategy, and design annual plans that are aligned with SA objectives and address the regional training needs;
  • Coordinates all learning interventions for the CBs, including budget management, evaluation of needs, allocation of capacity, planning of trainings, and review of training effectiveness.
  • Keeps track of the status and performance of trainees and auditors, and their compliance with RA requirements.
  • Coordinates the development of training material (e-courses in the online training platform) by internal content owners or external specialists, for timely and accurate delivery of training material of consistent quality and format;
  • Explore innovative ways to build knowledge capacity within CBs’ staff;
  • Proactively communicates with CBs on matters related to training and CB staff’s rules;
  • Use the feedback from the CB monitoring, CB management and Quality of Implementation teams to further improve the CB training plans and strategy; and
  • Periodically adjust the rules for CB personnel, based on feedback of its implementation.


Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree in the fields of natural resources or social sciences, or equivalent working experience in this area;
  • Experience in administrative processes;
  • Knowledge of project management and training;
  • Experience working with certification systems;
  • Written and verbal proficiency in English. Knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese or French, a plus;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook;
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a time sensitive manner;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact culturally, linguistically, and diplomatically with diverse internal and external individuals; and,
  • Is proactive and demonstrates ability to use initiative, be self-motivated, resourceful and dependable.


Salary:

Commensurate with experience.
