Dawn Meats is a reputed company based in Cork, County Cork. We are looking for talented professional from the field of School Leavers to join our team as Recruitment Apprentice.

We would like to invite applications for our 2022 Apprenticeship programme in conjunction with the Employment & Recruitment Federation and the National College of Ireland.

This role represents an outstanding opportunity to work with the Recruitment Specialist and wider HR team in order to find solutions to our recruitment and staffing needs.

The apprenticeship is a 3-year Undergraduate Hons Degree and is open to both school leavers and those looking for a career change. As an apprentice you will have a mentor which will be provided by Dawn Meats. The mentor will be trained by NCI and will be able to provide best I class on the job training. The role will entail four days on the job training and one day in the classroom per week.

What you can expect to do:

  • Build a personal network of candidates and clients;
  • Achieve key recruitment and KPI targets;
  • Candidate Search & Engagement - Job advertising, promotion, networking, headhunting;
  • Source and screen candidates to meet job requirements (confirm availability, capability, fit and interest);
  • Attend recruitment fairs and events regarding the Dawn Meats Graduate Programme and develop relationships with Third Level Colleges and Institutes in Ireland;
  • Engage with agencies across Ireland, the EU and further afield in order to source, interview and employ suitable candidates;
  • Gain a full working knowledge of the Employment Permit Process for both General and Critical Skills Employment permits;
  • Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including medicals, reference checks and payroll/salary set up;
  • Ensure that all applicants, successful or not, are communicated with in a timely and professional manner;
  • Develop excellent working relationships with key stakeholders across all departments of the business in the ROI;
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required.

The successful candidate should be or have

  • A grade H5 and above in two higher level subjects together with a minimum of O6/H7 in four other subjects. A minimum of grade O6/H7 must be obtained in English. A grade O6/H7 must be obtained in Mathematics. Holders of a QQI level 5 or Level 6 (or equivalent) can apply for entry onto the programme;
  • Learners for whom English is not a first language must demonstrate proficiency in English with CEF B2 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) or recognised equivalent;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications - PowerPoint, Word, Teams and Excel;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Strong organisational Skills, ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines;
  • Eager to develop a career in recruitment/HR.
