Role Summary
We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Snap Lab BCI team in Paris.
What you’ll do:
Develop consumer grade hardware from initial concepts through early trades, sizing analyses, component selection, refinement of design details, hardware procurement, first-article inspection, assembly and integration, and qualification testing
Work with product design engineers on evaluation, validation and optimization of design developments
Perform static and dynamic structural simulations using FEM / FEA
Develop and conduct technical experiments to select designs, materials, and technologies
Collaborate with product design and cross functional engineering teams
Participate in team brainstorming and new technology development
Develop new simulation tools and capabilities
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Expert level understanding of static and dynamic structural simulations using FEM and FEA on consumer grade hardware in wearable consumer electronics products
Proficiency in 3D CAD and top-down CAD design (CREO preferred)
Technical background in product design, architecture, tolerance analysis, structural analysis
Wide knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing methods from prototyping to mass production
Excellent process development and documentation skills
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field such as mechanical engineering and applied mechanics
5+ year experience performing mechanical and structural simulations in the context of product design
Experience with parametric 3D design modeling (NX, SolidWorks, CREO)
Experience with hands-on prototyping and manufacturing techniques (machining, 3D printing, injection molding, casting, soft goods etc.)
Fluency in English or French
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with consumer electronics and wearables
Experience in building and calibrating nonlinear material models
Conversation-level French
Passion for creating innovative, high quality products
