About the job

We’re looking for a back-end developer with experience working with Java and Spring Boot, who thrives when moving between platforms and development environments. You will get to work on highly scalable projects that include web API development.

This project will involve solving problems with messaging protocols routed through multiple backend systems deployed in the cloud.

A day in the life as an iTrellis consultant is never the same. You will get the opportunity to work on many different exciting projects and try new things at every turn!

Basic Qualifications

• Experience working with core Java, multi-threading, concurrency, Java EE application development and Spring Boot
• Experience using and working with Java EE design patterns
• Experience hosting micro services on cloud environment - specifically AKS - experience with Docker container management
• Experience with development and configuration of Kafka Producer, Kafka Consumer, Kafka Streams and Azure Event Hubs
• Experience with databases such as MySQL and Cosmos DB
• Testing frameworks such as jUnit and Mockito

Principles you should follow

• Passion for building great software and dedication to writing quality code that is testable, maintainable and high performing
• DRY, SOLID
• Agile development

Experience in the following is a plus, but not required

• CI/CD experience, including building and deploying and maintaining cloud micro services
• Pair programming
• Serverless development on Azure or AWS
