We are currently recruiting for one (1) ISE Transmission Support Specialist to join our team. This candidate will provide support to the 160th Signal Brigade or subordinate Battalions’ AOR. Tasks for this position include; performing analysis, staff studies, problem resolution, consultation and administrative responsibilities in support of Army signal operations, providing support in the full integration of unit capabilities, supporting the Government with planning, execution and synchronization of unit efforts within the Brigade or Battalions Staff.

Minimum Experience

  • Must have five years of experience with: Satellite Communication Systems, support racks, fiber, Interconnect Facilities (ICFs), Network Equipment Technologies (NET), multiplexers, voice transcoders, tactical/strategic interfaces, switching communications, Unclassified (but Sensitive) Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET), SIPRNET, local area networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRFs), outside cable plant transmission, radio propagation (Line of Sight (LOS), Voice Over IP (VOIP) and Area), digital microwave (M/W) equipment operation, radio systems engineering, base band multiplexers, cable and Television and Video Teleconferencing, to include support for cable television channels such as American Forces Network (AFN) and a command channel for public announcements.
  • Able to perform system design and development engineering functions to support the engineering of information systems including the following: radio, fiber optics, cable plant, technical control, local and wide area networks, command and control, space communications, record data, switched data/voice, video computer, office automation, automation security, network security, physical security systems, perimeter security, network and systems management and control, and video teleconferencing.
  • Knowledge of signal operations concepts and principles, Command SOPs, and Command practices to support the missions of the 160th Signal Brigade or Battalions by being able to review, analyze and advise in the resolution of complex and difficult signal operations as part of a larger war-fighting operation.
  • In-depth knowledge of Army Doctrine Publication (ADP) 3-0 and Tasking orders and how they relate to the overall mission.
  • Ability to brief senior officers in formal and informal settings. Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO)/Officer Battalion, Brigade, Division staff experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of ADP 5-0, the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP), and staff estimates. Know how to work as part of a military planning staff.
  • Army Information Technology and Management policy, and in some instances, policies and practices of other agencies, industry, or other sources of technical data in order to determine the best way to support exercise and operational requirements.
  • Organization, missions and personnel of other agencies and activities such as NETCOM staff elements, ARCENT, Coalition/Joint Task Force (CJTF)-Kuwait, the Coalition Land Forces Component Command (CFLCC), and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Central Command (DISA-CENT), sufficient to coordinate signal operations matters related to exercise, mobilization, and operational requirements.
  • Ability to communicate technical signal operations and planning issues in a clear, understandable manner to support the government with effective management; ability to brief high level officials on recommended courses of action and resources; ability to prepare reports and other documents; and ability to participate in working groups, meetings and conferences.
  • Analytical ability to evaluate, integrate, and initiate plans, programs, and actions related to signal operations to adequately portray and present findings.

  • 25U/25W MOS
  • Battlestaff Operations Experience
  • Joint Planning Experience
  • SFC/E7 or equivalent.
  • IAT III Certification or Equivalent.
