Riva International, Inc. is a reputed company based in Edmonton, AB. We are looking for talented professional from the field of Human Resources / Recruitment to join our team as Human Resources Generalist - Remote - Canada.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING

As a Human Resources Generalist, your focus will be on payroll and benefits administration. You will also provide support for recruitment, employee relations, and other administrative tasks. You will be the hands-on representative of the HR department. This position will allow you to learn and grow and apply your passion for the people of an organization while being part of something bigger.


More specifically, your duties will include:

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties, including recruitment (reviewing job descriptions, screening applications, and scheduling interviews), onboarding and offboarding tasks, and sending communications.
  • Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, and the hiring processes.
  • Manage payroll transaction processing of employees in Canada, the USA, and Tunisia.
  • Complete quarterly reconciliation of payroll data and processes (employee data, time off balances, system audits) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Complete year-end payroll processes accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct salary and compensation reviews as required and make recommendations.
  • Provide guidance to employees regarding benefit coverage, claims advice, and facilitating issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with the insurance carrier for new hires, changes in salary, and termination of employees.
  • Develop and implement employee benefit plan communications to all levels of the organization.
  • Act as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, including health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
  • Assist with planning and executing special events such as training sessions and webinars, holiday parties, and celebrations.

WHAT DO YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • A diploma or degree in Human Resources, Office Administration, Business Administration, or an acceptable related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience, preferably in a human resources role.
  • Effective HR administration and people management skills.
  • Tech-savvy with high proficiency in Office365 applications.

Bonus points for:

  • Exposure to labor law and employment equity regulations.
  • Experience using ADP, Payworks, and/or BambooHR.
