COAST CONSTRUCTION is a reputed company based in Whistler, BC. We are looking for talented professional from the field of Human Resources / Recruitment to join our team as Human Resource And Administration Assistant.

As a proactive people-person, the Human Resource and Administration Assistant role with Coast Construction is suited to an experienced individual who thrives in a fast-paced office environment. This dynamic position supports Coast's Owners/General Manager and Management Team in daily human resource and administration responsibilities. Being able to simultaneously work independently, take own initiative while taking instruction from others are essential attributes. Experience in the construction industry an asset; training is provided. Being a highly organized multi-tasker with excellent communication skills are key to the success in this role.

**Candidates currently residing locally in the Sea to Sky area (Whistler, Squamish, Pemberton) or those willing to relocate here at own expense will be considered.**

**Candidates must be able to legally work in Canada and in possession of valid work permit to be considered.**

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Administration management
- General office duties supporting management team (i.e. prepare correspondence, data entry work, document scanning and filing)
- Support management team with contract administration
- Attend project start-up meeting for coordination with project management and site leaders
- Monitor deliveries to office and alert staff of item arrival
- Maintain office supplies and order new supplies
- Attend Site Leaders meeting – take minutes, prepare action items, distribute and track progress
- Attend Safety Committee meeting – take minutes, prepare action items, distribute and track progress
- Additional duties may include: booking inspections, scheduling appointments/meetings, arranging couriers, placing service calls for office equipment, assisting with arranging employee travel, accommodations, flights
- Review and develop new administrative procedures

Company business
- Subcontract management: assist with arranging trades, insurance, WorkSafe
- Assist in preparation of project close-out binders/homeowner orientation packages
- Assist with organizing client gift baskets

Payroll
- Assemble/enter timecard for payroll admin; Prepare time report
- Communicate payroll issues (i.e. late time sheets) to management

Human Resources
- Guide Management and Employees on Employment Standards Act
- Recruitment -post positions online, shortlist potential candidates for review, arrange interviews
- Assist with onboarding new staff – computer set-up and training, paperwork and on-site
- Track 90-day Performance Review – alert manager
- Employee Benefits Administration
- update benefits plan with new hires/terminations
- handle questions from staff related to benefits package
- Coordinate staff birthday and employee milestone acknowledgments
- Assist with organizing employee social events – Staff Appreciation Lunch, Holiday Party

Experience, Attributes, Requirements
- Committed to adhering to Coast’s core values of quality, accountability, commitment to clients, teamwork and safety
- Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent experience working in a professional setting
- Experience working in business administration, in construction industry as asset
- Knowledge of Federal and Provincial employment laws
- Experience dealing with sensitive, complex and highly confidential employee situations
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to grow and maintain positive relationships
- Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail skills
- Proven success at taking ownership for one’s responsibilities and delivering outcomes within the defined timeframe
- Advanced MS Windows, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Requirement for Personal Protective Equipment
- Per the Company OH&S policy employee to supply and wear hard hat, rated protective footwear, safety glasses and high vis vest, gloves etc when on construction sites
