Your future duties and responsibilities
Reporting directly to Security Engineering Manager. The Security Engineer designs network security solutions and implements firewalls, access lists, and other tools as appropriate in order to provide network and perimeter security. Your goal is to implement network security controls within the enterprise environment according to business access requirements while protecting it against unauthorized access and internal and external malicious threats.
Also responsible for:
Configure and install network security devices including firewalls, routers, switches, and NAC appliances while considering optimal hardening, monitoring, and maintenance of those devices.
Close coordination with project manager, application owners, Cybersecurity, Network Operations, and other internal organizations to develop, review, implement, and test VPN firewall/ACL rules, IPSEC tunnel configuration and NAC policies.
Validate ACLs/firewall rule set and NAC policy effectiveness, and optimize configurations to improve security posture and/or performance.
Analyze network and security device logs to troubleshoot functional or access problems.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Strong security and networking background
Very strong working knowledge and concepts of Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama.
Ability to be able to work independently with little or no oversight.
Strong understanding of application based firewalls(generic standards) as well as WAF functions(Web Application Based Firewalls)
Be able to explain and have discussions with client in depth on proposed changes and projects.
Work directly with group leaders (Wintel, Open Systems, Networking etc) regarding security requirements.
Must have Positive and professional demeanor exhibited with team members and clients.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to coordinate work activities with remote teams.
Understanding of and ability to work within corporate processes while meeting the needs of clients.

Understanding of Azure Cloud
Understanding of Change Control Processes
10 years experience

High School Diploma/GED

Est. Salary Range (Colorado Only): $58,000-$130,000*
