Job Responsibilities

• Keep track of new fashions and trends, design and production techniques
• Research for ideas and inspiration
• Identify and develop season-wise design trends for eastern pret wear
• Visualize and develop design ideas as per the seasonal theme
• Produce designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software
• Assist Lead Textile Designer in achieving goals and targets for the design team
• Liaison with marketing, procurement, technical staff and other support departments
• Oversee the sample development process for their designs
• Conduct market survey and research when required
• Ensure timely delivery of targets assigned for the season

Skills Required

• Understanding of the design development process
• Strong grip of design techniques such as patterns, print, embroidery, etc.
• Understanding of research methodologies
• Attention to detail
• Understanding of the properties of different materials and fabrics
• Have knowledge of the market and new trends
• Good communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills
• Have good organizational ability and be able to work to deadlines and within budget
• Proficiency in CAD, illustrator and other related design software

Experience and Education Required

• Minimum bachelor’s degree, with a major in Fashion/Textile Design
• Minimum 2 years of experience in pret
