UCD English Language Academy is a reputed company based in Dublin, County Dublin. We are looking for talented professional from the field of Education / Higher Education to join our team as English Language Teacher.
The English Language Academy is a wholly owned subsidiary of UCD which seeks to make a significant contribution to English language provision while upholding UCD values by embedding quality, integrity and accountability into every aspect of its activity.
The English Language Teacher is part of the Academic Team and is responsible for delivering a superior student learning experience through the delivery of classroom instruction, tutorials and student assessment as defined in the contract and staff & teacher handbook. As part of the Academic Team, the teacher, in collaboration with the Academic team members, sets individual learning and development goals and actively seeks opportunities to further develop teaching practice.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to students
- Provide feedback and support that encourages learners to develop their language and learning skills
- Complete all administrative duties in a timely manner
- Provide students with focused tutorials
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions
- Participate in internal/external CPD events
- Set development goals in conjunction with the Academic Coordinator based on observations, feedback and individual areas of interest
- Conduct and mark exams according to the assessment criteria
- Respond appropriately to student questions and comments
- Plan lessons to meet the needs of both individuals and the class
Skills and Responsibilities:
- 3-5 years of experience teaching TEFL courses at all levels (General English, AE, ESP and Business English)
- Proven ability to plan and deliver high quality language lessons
- Good technology skills (MS Office, IWB etc.) and admin skills (lesson plans, academic templates, academic reports etc.)
- Professionalism when dealing with students and staff alike
- Organised, punctual and trustworthy
- A self-starter who likes getting things done
- Bachelor's Degree Minimum in a related field
