In this position you will play a key leadership role in leading a team of investment specialists to attract, develop and deliver complex investment projects for the state of Victoria. The team is the single point of contact for the Victorian Government Trade & Investment network for Asia & MENA. Promoting Victoria's merits as an investment location.

About the role
Invest Victoria have a unique opportunity for a Director of Investment - Asia & MENA. In this position you will play a key leadership role in leading a team of investment specialists to attract, develop and deliver complex investment projects for the state of Victoria. The team is the single point of contact for the Victorian Government Trade & Investment network for Asia & MENA. Promoting Victoria's merits as an investment location.
- Develop a pipeline of strategic international investment targets and deliver investment attraction outcomes that generate jobs/capital expenditure and build Victoria's brand as an investment destination
- Develop and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including international investors, prompting Victoria as an investment location and contribute to the development of investment attraction related policies and strategies
- Provide strong, collaborative and adaptable leadership, including coaching and mentoring, to foster a high-performance culture that delivers investment outcomes
- Lead and manage large, sophisticated investment attraction projects with complex contract negotiations and commercial arrangements
About you
To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate:
- High-level leadership skills with the proven ability to build a positive team culture, align teams with organisational values and goals, provide effective people management
- Highly developed communication skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively, develop networks and foster effective working relationships with key stakeholders including senior representatives of industry, businesses and government including ministers and their offices
- Highly developed negotiating and influencing skills including the ability to negotiate and build consensus with major stakeholders a the most senior levles with in the public and private sectors on complex investment related projects and issues
- Proven experience in creatively and proactively targeting investment to Victoria, including promoting Victora as an investment location as well as in pipeline management, account managment, lead generation, contract negotiation and project managemen tactivities
- Proven experience in the development and negotiation of commercial arrangements relating to major investment projects
