Role

Are you an experienced planner of capital projects who is eager to apply new approaches to problem solving?

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Health Facilities Planning Branch, you will apply your proven knowledge of operational requirements in the public health sector in the planning and implementation of capital projects to achieve health service outcomes and targets that are aligned with Ministry goals and objectives. You will use your experience and clear understanding of the planning process to analyze long-term capital plans as well as provide guidance and support to the development of project needs assessments, project programming studies and other project documents, resulting in a more disciplined planning and project approval process. Utilizing well-developed writing skills, this position will prepare briefing notes and other professional correspondence to prepare business cases, respond to public enquiries and to support the development of the annual Alberta Health capital planning process. In collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, this position will participate on project committees to develop the most effective approaches to ensure compliance with health policies and direction.

Qualifications

A related University degree but not limited to (engineering, architecture, business, planning, health administration, nursing) plus 4 years progressively related experience.

Other requirements include:

  • Experience working in the public health sector or consulting role supporting the health sector.
  • Experience writing briefing notes and professional correspondence.
  • A valid drivers’ license.

Knowledge and experience in clinical service delivery and impacts to building design and construction are considered assets.

Experience working with government health legislation is considered an asset.

Experience with the funding or development of indigenous infrastructure or delivery of clinical services to indigenous peoples is considered an asset.

Equivalent combination of directly related education and experience which includes as a minimum, completion of a recognized diploma program, on the basis of 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Salary

$2,683.10 to $3,507.06 biweekly ($70,028 to $91,534/year)

  • 36.25 hours per week.

  • This is a permanent, full time position.
